Tune In Tuesday

Hi there everyone! How are we doing on this lovely Tuesday? Can you guys believe that we are almost halfway through May already? It’s crazy how fast the time is flying by. I am STILL without a computer and it is still KILLING me. I feel like I am so out of the loop with all things Tune In Tuesday but I reallllly hope to get a working computer this week. Since it’s still hard for me to put these posts together without the laptop, it’s going to be another randomized week. I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Aloha from Hawaii!!! I hope you are all having a fantastic week so far. I am currently writing this from a tablet so if it looks a little weird for you guys, I apologize! So interestingly sucky fact about Hawaii, they’re radio stations are basically nonexistent. 50% of the time only 2 radio stations come in and the songs that play on them are less than ideal. That means my sister and I have been putting our Pandora & Spotify stations to good use. I’ve got a few songs that have popped up lately (two of which I have shared on here already but I am hoping you’ll enjoy regardless!). Next week’s Tune In Tuesday will be a little random and put together on a tablet as well so sorry in advance guys. I hope you all have a great week and happy listening!

I cannot believe we are already on week 3 of Summertime Edition! I have been loving all of the songs I’ve seen you guys have picked so far and I cannot wait to see what you’ve got planned for today! I have five more songs that remind me of all things summer. Enjoy!

Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter

This song has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It will always remind me of summer!

‘Til Summer Comes Around by Keith Urban

Regardless of how sad the song is, I still love it!

It Ain’t Love by Green River Ordinance

This is a new song off of Green River Ordinance’s new EP releasing TOMORROW!!! Basically everything that these guys sing remind me of summertime!

Be My Baby by Hey Ocean

Any song from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack reminds me of summer, no questions asked. I heard this particular version at work and loved it!

Let My Love Open The Door by Pete Townshend

This song has such a beachy feel to it. It is the perfect song to get me in the mood for a day spent out by the water!

Hello there everyone, I hope your week was full of awesome! I am so excited that another Tuesday has rolled around and I can’t wait to see what music you guys have to share today!

The last couple of days have been overly stressful to say the least so I have been listening to one of my favorite go-to bands, Green River Ordinance. These guys have an incredible ability to sooth me. Their lyrics tell beautiful stories and the melodies are lovely and sweet. I’ve featured them a couple of times here on Tune In Tuesday but I think they are awesome enough to share with you again so I hope you enjoy!

Book Playlist: The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg

It is no secret that I love books. It is also no secret that I love music. So you can imagine how full of adoration I am when the two come together! Whether I’m finding songs to go with certain books or if an author does the job for me, I love listening to playlists that compliment some of my favorite books! Today I am talking about the playlist for a lovely & adorable book entitled…

The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg (add on Goodreads) was one of my very favorite books last year! It was such an adorable, sweet, feel-good book. I loved how it was a book about friendship, boys, and let’s not forget, The Beatles! As you can probably guess from the title and cover, this book had a huge Beatles influence that was even more pronounced throughout the pages. The main character, Penny (named after a Beatles song), has parents that are incredibly obsessed with The Beatles. Instead of automatically hating whatever music her parents like, our main character also has a deep love for this group (thank goodness or else I would have to love this book a bit less!) On top of talking about The Beatles throughout the pages, the book is also separated into smaller sections (not quite every chapter, but every couple of chapters) with a page featuring a particular Beatles song and a quote from that song.

So in honor of this awesome book that pays tribute to one of the most spectacular bands to ever walk the face of the earth, I present to you the playlist for The Lonely Hearts Club. The playlist was created with Spotify. If you don’t have Spotify and/or cannot get the playlist to work, I added a few YouTube videos at the end highlighting some of my favorites.  And since I am a huge fan of bands that do cover songs (and do them well!) I also included a few of my favorite bands that have covered a song that was talked about in the book!

Come Together by The Arctic Monkeys (Beatles Cover)

My love and adoration for The Arctic Monkeys started way back when I first “met” Tee from Dreaming Dreams No Mortal Ever Dared. Saying she is obsessed is an understatement but with good reason! This group rocks and they rocked enough to be able to perform this cover for the 2012 Summer Olympics!

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band by The Beatles

This may not be my ultimate favorite Beatles song but it is so much fun AND it is basically the title of this book!

Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles

This is my very favorite Beatles song so when it popped up right at the end of the book I squealed with delight!

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Ginger @ GReads so you should head on over and link up! It is a great way to bounce from blog to blog and discover what others are listening to! I love music but there is so much out there that I haven’t heard of before. That being said, feel free to leave a link to your Tune-In Tuesday post!

This week I am featuring a band that I have grown to ADORE, LOVE, and been BLOWN AWAY by in such a short amount of time. I first heard of Green River Ordinance a few months ago when one of their videos was recommended to me on YouTube and I have not been able to stop listening since that very day. Seriously guys, every single song is SO AMAZING! They have a very unique, light, I-wanna-dance-barefoot-in-the-summertime sort of feel and it just can’t get much better than that. There isn’t really one word to describe this band but I hope you guys think they are worth the listen. As much as I want to show you every single song of theirs, I will have to refrain in hopes that you will now go off and listen to them a bit more on your own. Don’t get me wrong though, I still have a few to share with you today, just not all. Enjoy!!!

Different by Green River Ordinance

This is one of there faster songs and I just love it. Plus just listen to those lyrics, all about change and the good ole’ days…

Go Your Own Way by Green River Ordinance

I am a cover junkie (music AND book covers). When it comes to music covers, this is a superb one!

Dancing Shoes by Green River Ordinance

This is the very last week of Tune In Tuesday Book Playlist Edition and it makes me so sad! I really wish I didn’t miss that one week because there is a ton of music related books I would have loved to share with you guys! But since it is the last week, I will try to make it extra special by posting a few of my very favorite songs that remind me of a few of my very favorite books!

Endlessly by Green River Ordinance paired with The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I really felt so many raw emotions while reading this book that I could have easily picked 20 songs to go along with it! It broke my heart in the most beautiful way but it also showed me all about love and I think this song displays that perfectly.

Everything Falls Apart by Carter Hulsey paired with On Little Wings by Regina Sirois

I recently saw Carter in concert and picked up his CD. As soon as this song came on, I was reminded of Jennifer and Nathan’s story ESPECIALLY when the line from Robert’s poem is mentioned in the song. That plays an important role in the book.

Birds of a Feather by The Civil Wars paired with Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood

This song has that sort of hauntingly beautiful feel to it and that is exactly what I experienced while reading this book.

Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift paired with Forget You by Jennifer Echols

I still don’t know what it is about this song. It could be the mention of green eyes but I like to think it is just the whirlwind of feelings flying between Zoey and Doug in this book. You can definitely tell there are sparks flying between the two!

Daughter Of The Sun by Windsor Drive paired with Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

This is another hard one to really explain. It may be because I listened to this CD a lot right around the time I read the book but I like to think that the lyrics tell a very similar story.

You Found Me by Kelly Clarkson paired with The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

You know I had to pick at least one Sarah Dessen book! I actually had a super hard time because I feel as though her stories are so specific, it’s hard to match a song perfectly. I know this song gets paired with a lot of paranormal books but I actually really like how it fits with this story. Wes brings out a whole other side to Macy. She is just going through all the motions but Wes and the whole gang get her to open up and grow as a person.
