Here we are, at the final day of Tune In Tuesday 90’s Edition. I am so sad to see this one come to an end but I am so happy you all joined me in celebrating a pretty awesome decade. I’ve got some awesome music planned for today so sit back, take a listen, and let me know what you think!

Waterfalls by TLC

This song, it NEVER gets old.

Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter

When I think back to my childhood, this song is one that always comes to mind. It was always just there.

Piece of My Heart by Faith Hill

Even though the Janis Joplin version is forever awesome, this particular one is the one I remember most when I think about this song. Whenever my cousin would visit from Texas, her, my sister, and I would all play this tape over and over again.

Friday I’m In Love by The Cure

My favorite band singing one of my favorite songs during one of my favorite years. It just doesn’t get better than that.

Hold On by Wilson Phillips

Best road trip song EVER.

Wannabe by The Spice Girls

My 6th birthday was a Spice Girls party. It was awesome enough that I remember it to this day.

Genie In A Bottle by Christina Aguilera

I used to pretend I was Christina but then I would hear my voice and that dream was shattered. Still love her songs though!

Baby One More Time by Britney Spears

I also used to pretend I was Britney. My fantasy was shattered in a much similar manner as listed above.

I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys

This song, it was my JAM back in the day. Okay, it still is today…

You Were Meant For Me by Jewel

To this very day, this song is one of my very favorites. So heartbreakingly beautiful.

Tearin’ Up My Heart by N’Sync

Do you know how hard it was to pick just one N’Sync song? Really freaking hard.

Happy Tuesday everyone! For those of you just joining us, Tune In Tuesday is a bit special this month because we are all sharing our favorite cover songs! If you have a cover song you would like to share, just make up a blog post featuring it and come back here to link up and check out everyone else’s picks as well. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

This week I have a random mix of awesome. I hope you all enjoy!

I Can’t Make You Love Me/Nick Of Time by Bon Iver (Original by Bonnie Raitt)

Last week I shared a cover of a Bon Iver song and this week I couldn’t help but share Bon Iver covering a song. I love the original but I love his version just a bit more!

Don’t You (Forget About Me) by KT Tunstall (Original by Simple Minds)

To me, nothing could EVER top the original song. I mean, it is simple perfection. BUT I love how incredibly different KT made it for her version.

Just Like Heaven by AFI (Original by The Cure)

If you’ve been to the blog before then odds are you know how big of a fan-girl I am of all things The Cure. AFI didn’t change up the song a whole lot which is why I think I like it as a cover. Just Like Heaven is pretty much perfect the way it is.

Heartless by The Fray (Original by Kanye West)

I love this cover so much more than the original partly because I cannot stand Kanye (he really does have some pretty catchy songs but his personality makes it awfully hard for me to enjoy them. Sad but true.) and also partly because I love The Fray.

Radioactive by Lindsey Stirling & Pentatonix (Original by Imagine Dragons)

I absolutely adore this cover to pieces. The classical instruments mixed with the lyrics give off this incredible, haunting vibe. However if I am being totally honest, basically ANYTHING Lindsey cover with her violin turns out to be a favorite of mine. Also, I get to see Imagine Dragons in concert tonight (squee!!!) so I had to honor them somehow!

Hi there everyone! I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday! This month Tune In Tuesday is extra fun because we are doing Cover Edition! I absolutely love finding covers of songs that I can’t seem to get enough of. Today’s songs are a mix of some of my favorite covers and I am beyond excited to share them with you. I hope you enjoy!

Skinny Love by Gavin Mikhail (Original by Bon Iver)

I am a bit torn on which one I like more, the cover or the original. I think I am just going to have to call this one a draw because they are both pretty freaking amazing.

Price Tag by The Wombats (Original by Jessie J)

I am a huge fan of the Mashup Mondays that Billboard used to do. It was a fun way of seeing a different side to bands that I love. I love The Wombats something fierce and the fact that they can sing a song that I loathe and actually make me love it just shows how talented they are.

Dreams by Augustana (Original by Fleetwood Mac)

This is another Mashup Monday song I came across a looong time ago. I have been a Fleetwood Mac fan since I was a little girl. That is the stuff I grew up on so it’s only natural that I love their stuff even now. I was a bit worried at first to see a band I love (Augustana) do such a well-known song, especially one that is among my favorites but I think they did an incredible job with it. I love that they kept their “Augustana tone” to it.

Sweet Nothing by Corey Gray & Madilyn Bailey (Original by Calvin Harris & Florence Welch)

I love everything about this version of the song. I liked the original okay but there’s just something about the cover that I LOVE!

Friday I’m In Love by Scars On 45 (Original by The Cure)

This is one of my all-time favorite covers. Why you ask? Well first off, The Cure is one of my go-to bands. Their music never fails when it comes to putting a smile on my face. Secondly, I adore Scars on 45 to absolute pieces. Seriously. I have found myself sharing their music here on the blog time and time again but I have to say, this is pretty high up there as far as a favorite of their songs. I love that they slowed the song down and put their own spin on it. It almost sounds like a totally different song!

I cannot believe it is already the last Tuesday of February thus ending our Love Song Edition of Tune In Tuesday! I have LOVED seeing everyone’s love song choices! Next week will start off our normal month of Tune In Tuesday but keep your eyes peeled for an announcement regarding Tune In Tuesday’s special edition for April (I’ll have that up within the next couple weeks)! I tried to narrow this week’s tunes down to five like all my previous posts but that was far too impossible (there are just SO MANY love songs out there!) So please be patient with me because I have LOTS of love songs to share!

Only Place I Call Home by Every Avenue

I can’t tell if this is supposed to be a break up song or an “I screwed up and this is goodbye for now but I still love you” song. Regardless, I love the idea of someone being your home <3

Just Like Heaven by The Cure

The Cure has a special way of making my bad moods incredibly better. This song is among one of my favorites by them; it is cute, it has a super fun beat, and it is just simply sweet!

Oath by Cher Lloyd featuring Becky G

As much as I adore all of these love songs, they also make me slightly depressed because I have no real relationships to relate them too (I do have plenty of bookish relationships though!) However, this is a love song to a best friend and that is most certainly something I can relate to!

Shady Lady by Oaklynn

Is this not one of the catchiest songs you’ve ever heard? It makes me grin like no other and I just want to dance around every time I hear it. I am a recent fan of Oaklynn but I love what I’ve heard so far!

Heart On Fire by Scars On 45

Goodness gracious, I could listen to this song ALL DAY LONG!

Because Of You by Sequoyah Prep School

I know this isn’t the best quality video but the song is full of awesome, I promise!

Promise The Stars by We The Kings

You guys didn’t seriously think I would miss out on an opportunity to share a We The Kings song did you???

Everywhere Everything by This Century

I love this song, that is all <3

Dead Sea by The Lumineers

I know, I cheated by having 2 Lumineer songs this month! This song is just too wonderful for words so I HAD to include it. Every line is beautiful and speaks of some wonderful love. “You’ll never sink when you are with me”…perfection!

Make You Feel My Love by Adele

One of my all-time favorite love songs. Adele’s version is simply amazing!

Well that is a wrap on Love Song Edition! I hope you all enjoyed it <3

Tune In Tuesday (58)

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Ginger @ GReads so you should head on over and link up! It is a great way to bounce from blog to blog and discover what others are listening to! I love music but there is so much out there that I haven’t heard of before. That being said, feel free to leave a link to your Tune-In Tuesday post!

For the whole month of May it is going to be Random Playlist Edition! All you need to do is open up your music library whether it be Amazon Player, Zune, iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, etc. Once you have it open, hit random and let it do the picking! I cannot wait to see what music you guys have picked for today! I decided to go along with 3 choices from iTunes and 3 from Spotify again this week!

iTunes:

I Tried by Paradise Fears

I just adore these guys so much. This isn’t my favorite by them but I still love it!

The Only One by The Cure

LOVE The Cure! One of their best songs (in my opinion!)

Girl Next Door by Saving Jane

This song was my anthem in both middle and high school!

Spotify:

Wild Flowers by Ryan Adams

I am not too familiar with this song. I tend to like Ryan’s songs from his Cardinology album but it is still very good!

Scared As Hell by Austin Gibbs

AUSTIN GIBBS!!!!! I miss him so much (only saw him once in concert and it is literally killing me…well not “literally” but you know what I mean!) His music brings a big, giant smile to my face <3

Rain Falls Down by We The Kings

I was waiting to see how long it would take for one of their songs to pop up on one of these random music posts!

Happy Halloween!!!

I hope Halloween turns out to be a festive, wonderful day for all of you! I for one will be spending the day reading and doing lazy-butt stuff like eating caramel apples, pumpkin shaped peanut butter cups, and drinking hot cider. But when the evening rolls around I will dress up as a witch (I think….I haven’t quite decided yet) and will then go trick or treating with my family (what sane person turns down free candy?). In honor of this fun holiday, I decided to post some songs that remind me of Halloween. Some obviously have a Halloween influence, others may not but I like them anyways. Enjoy!!!

Caution: There is like HEAVY cursing in the “Let’s Go” video, it is so bad it almost makes me feel uncomfortable…but I still love the song!

Let’s Go by Lil Jon

Something about the background noises in this song creep me out. It has always reminded me of some super cool Halloween song!

Disturbia by Rihanna

Do you see this video??? It is one of the creepiest music videos out there!

Thriller by Michael Jackson

It is pretty much illegal to not be thinking of the song/video when you think about Halloween. It’s a classic!

Call Me When Your Sober by Evanescence

The wolves, the scary-looking castle, her hauntingly beautiful voice, what DOESN’T remind you Halloween?

Bring Me To Life by Evanescence

I dare you to find a bad Evanescence song because I certainly cannot. This one definitely has the freak factor too!

Dragula by Rob Zombie

I rocked out to this when I was a little girl. It practically shouts HALLOWEEN!

Lullaby by The Cure

It is the whispering that totally freaks me out in this song.

The Devil Went Down To Georgia by Charlie Daniels Band

I memorized this song when I was little. Looking back now, I wonder why I was so obsessed with it but hey, it is still dark and freaky!

Don’t Fear The Reaper by Pierce The Vail (Blue Oyster Cult cover)

Oh I just LOVE my Punk Goes Classic Rock CD. This is one of my favorites from this particular volume!

The House on Shady Lane by Plain White T’s

I LOVE that The Plain White T’s made a Halloween song. They make me all sorts of happy!

Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance

I love this whole song, the video, and of course THE PARADE!

Tune-In Tuesday (20)

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Ginger @ GReads so you should head on over and link up! It is a great way to bounce from blog to blog and discover what others are listening to! I love music but there is so much out there that I haven’t heard of before. That being said, feel free to leave a link to your Tune-In Tuesday post!

Tuesdays have quickly become my favorite blogging day because I just adore this feature so much! This week in particular is extra special because it is the kick-off week for Tune-In Tuesday 90’s style! I am a 1992 baby and in my opinion that was the BEST year to be born. I thought why not start off with my favorite song from 1992 and then every week I will be presenting a new song (or two, or five) from a new year. Honestly, I had to scroll through several websites with lists of “the best songs of 1992” before I even came across one that I recognized. People listened to some pretty crazy stuff back then! But alas I did find one that I not only recognized but one that I actually enjoy so in honor of a totally radical, awesome book blogger named Katelyn (Haha! That is my attempt at a joke…kind of. Feel free to pity laugh at any moment), I present to you one of the greatest bands ever:

The Cure: Friday I’m In Love
