Tune In Tuesday

Hola!!! I hope you are all doing great this week and have had the chance to listen to some good tunes. The one thing I make time for each week is The Voice. There is just something about that show that I just freaking love. Last week there were some AMAZING performances. Even though the competition was fierce my top three all made it on to the next round. I have their performances from last week down below. Take a listen and enjoy!!

p.s. If you have a link to your Tune In Tuesday post, please be sure to leave it in the comments section!

Stay With Me by Josh Kaufman

This performance by Josh turned him from a contestant I enjoyed to one I will be rooting for until the end. It simply blew me away.

Magic Man by Kat Perkins

Kat is such a kick ass performer. She gives it her all every time she’s on stage and that is definitely proven with this song.

Anymore by Jake Worthington

Since I love Jake to absolute pieces I can almost forget how much I hate this song.

Tune In Tuesday

Hey there and happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone had a great Easter and that your week is off to a good start! I’m still without a working computer which sucks for the blog but in a way I benefit from it because it has been so nice out. Michigan is finally catching on to the fact that it’s springtime!

Since it’s still hard to access all of my music, this week is going to be three songs Spotify decides to play for me! I hope you enjoy the randomness and if you could please leave a link in the comments to your Tune In Tuesday post that would be great! We had a few new joiners last week so if you haven’t already, give them a warm welcome by visiting their blogs. I hope you all have a great week!!

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly feature in which bloggers get to showcase another one of their loves, music! This feature was originally created by Ginger over at GReads! but you can now find it here at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands. If you would like to participate in this weekly feature, make a blog post showcasing a song (or a few!) and link up at the bottom of this post by clicking the cute blue guy! While you’re here make sure to check out all the other awesome blogs that have decided to participate!

Hello there Tune In Tuesday-ers! I am sorry this post is going up a little late. For those of you wondering how the laptop saga is going…well it’s still very broken and I am still very lost without it. I am hoping to get it fixed soon so I can not only get back to blogging regularly but also so I can catch up on all of your guys’ great music posts!

Since I have no access to my music on my laptop, the only music I have been listening to is the CD’s in my car. One CD in particular is a band I don’t think I have ever shared here on the blog. I saw them at Warped Tour a few years ago and loved their sound. I am sharing a few of their songs today and I hope you all enjoy! Like the last few weeks, if you could just leave a link to your Tune In Tuesday post in the comments section, I would appreciate it. Hopefully by this time next week I will have a working laptop again and you guys can link up the normal way!

Hey guys! I’m officially home from Hawaii and let me just say, it feels great! My days may be filled with getting caught up on work and catching up with family and friends but it definitely feels good to be back! Unfortunately my computer is still on the fritz so that means a semi-normal Tune In Tuesday this week. I’m hoping to get it fixed soon! If you could all leave your link to your post in the comments section, that would be great! Hope you all have a fantastic week!

I’m going to be sharing a few of the songs I have been listening to lately. Some are newer favorites and some are older but I love them all the same!

Blog Tour + Giveaway: The Noise Beneath The Apple by Heather Jacks

The Noise Beneath The Apple Banner

Title: The Noise Beneath the Apple

Author: Heather Jacks

Foreword’s 2013 Book of the Year Award Finalist

Written by Heather Jacks and accompanied by an eleven-track vinyl record featuring the original music of a select number of participants, this 200-page art-style coffee table book measures 12” x 12” and weighs in at a whopping 8lbs. Putting the spotlight on the age-old profession of busking, Jacks also seeks to stem the tide of regulation intended to suffocate creative expression and take performers off the streets.

A limited-edition coffee table book, ‘The Noise Beneath the Apple®’, is a unique and vibrant study of the culture of street performance, its legitimacy in modern times and above all, an intimate look at thirty-five buskers throughout New York City. Released with an eleven-track vinyl record that was mastered by Grammy and Academy Award winning mastering engineer Reuben Cohen, this book is a singular achievement and a one-of-a-kind tribute to the chaotic, beautiful and spirited world of busking.

I am so excited to be featuring this book on the blog today! It is not my normal type of read but it includes one of my favorite things (aside from books!), music! I love visiting big cities for their sites, the food, but most importantly, the people. In the few times that I’ve visited New York City, I’ve come to love just sitting in a single spot and people watching. It takes no more than a few minutes in one spot to find a person (or persons) singing, playing instruments, and giving it their all in these street side performances called busking. It is an amazing thing to see and hear people. The cool thing that Heather has done is created a book with an accompanying record that includes music from these super talented performers!

The rest of this post includes all sorts of fun things about The Noise Beneath the Apple including a giveaway so be sure to check it all out!

ABOUT THE BOOK:

In the video below, Heather talks all about the book! It is so cool to hear how passionate she is about music, and busking in particular!

Sneak Peek: All Lined Up by Cora Carmack

All Lined Up Banner

All Lined Up

Title: All Lined Up (Rusk University #1)

Author: Cora Carmack

Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins

Expected Publication: May 13, 2014

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.

Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

YOU GUYS!!!! If you think I was excited to reveal the cover of All Lined Up for you all, I bet you can just guess how freaking giddy I am to have the chance to share this super awesome, super brilliant sneak peek of Cora’s upcoming New Adult novel. Tune In Tuesday (150)

Tune In Tuesday Hey there everyone! I know today’s post is a little bit late and really not put together very well at all. As much as I adore my new-ish kindle, it is not the ideal device to use when it comes to putting a blog post together. I am unable to copy and paste anything so that means no linky tool for us this week. If you could all be awesome enough to leave a link to your post in the comments, I would so, so, so appreciate it! In happier news, I am returning home later this week so that means normal Tune In Tuesday’s are coming your way AND I will finally be able to catch up and comment on your latest Tune In Tuesday posts. I hope you all have a wonderful week and happy listening :)

p.s. I bet you guys can’t guess what this week’s theme is for me ;) I’ll give you one hint, I’ve been away from my family and my cat for two weeks. I’m starting to miss them maybe just a bit.
