Tune In Tuesday (158)

Tune In Tuesday

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly feature in which bloggers get to showcase another one of their loves, music! This feature was originally created by Ginger over at GReads! but you can now find it here at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands. If you would like to participate in this weekly feature, make a blog post showcasing a song (or a few!) and link up at the bottom of this post by clicking the cute blue guy! While you’re here make sure to check out all the other awesome blogs that have decided to participate!

Hello there everyone! I apologize for this being a little late (two weeks in a row…whoops!) but I am a bit of a mess today. The reason why? I LEAVE FOR BEA TOMORROW!!! I have nothing packed, I have nothing even on my packing list, I don’t think I even have a piece of paper to write my packing list on. All in all, I am just a little bit overwhelmed and slightly (okay, EXTREMELY) disorganized.

In honor of all the book nerdiness that will be taking place over this next week, I have book-themed songs for you today. I hope you all enjoy!!!

Book Playlist: Charade by Nyrae Dawn

It’s no secret that I love my music just as much as I love my books! I can’t say I make playlists for every book I read but every once in a while I feel extra inspired to put songs together that help fit the characters and special scenes in that particular book!

I recently read and reviewed Charade by Nyrae Dawn and holy wow people, this book is full of awesomesauce! Charade features two beautifully broken characters, Chey and Colt, that are trying to work through their own personal demons while also trying to make their unconventional relationship work. This book has tension and passion, it is steamy and heartbreaking at the same time, and did I mention that Colt is another boy that I have added to my ever-growing list of fictional boyfriends? All of these awesome elements helped me find quite a few songs that reminded me of the characters, certain scenes in the book, or the overall feel of the story. Take a listen to the playlist I created for Charade below and if you haven’t already, be sure to pick up Charade by Nyrae Dawn!

(Amazon or Barnes & Noble)

And if by chance the playlist is not working below, I picked out a few of my favorite songs to feature as YouTube videos!

P.S. If you are a fan/user of Spotify you can subscribe to the playlist by following this link!

Tiny Dancer by Elton John

Colt has a few nicknames for Chey, most of which Chey did not like. However, Tiny Dancer is different from the other names. It’s sweeter, more tender. Whenever he called her this, I couldn’t help but think of this song!

Words by Skylar Grey

This song is haunting and heartbreaking but it is also beautiful. Everything about it makes me think of Chey and everything she is going through in this book.

Broadripple is Burning by Margot and The Nuclear So & So’s

There is something about this song that just fits with the book!

So what did you think? If you’ve read Charade, what songs would you pair with it?
